Sponsorship and Supporters

The Bungendore Quilt Exhibition would not be possible without the generous sponsorship from businesses, groups and individuals in our local community. Many thanks to all our supporters listed below. Where possible, please try and support our local businesses for goods and services you require.

Although the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery has now closed, we would like to acknowledge the continued support and sponsorship from our early beginnings in 2008 until 2024. David Mac Laren, owner and director of the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery, was a great supporter of all the arts and our prize winners were delighted with their prizes from the gallery.

Sponsorship

A number of businesses and government groups assist us in sponsorship and grants for our group. They have given generously for screens, stands, banners, signs, transport and monetary donations enabling us to hold our annual exhibitions and purchase prizes. Donations to assist us during the year in making compassion quilts for individuals and groups in our region have also been given. We thank you very much for your ongoing assistance and support of Bungendore Quilters.

Bungendore Community Bank Branch

Our community bank has always been behind our annual exhibition in the form of sponsorship to assist with advertising, etc. In 2015 Bungendore Community Bank branch sponsored Bungendore Quilters for nearly $5,000 for new black screens for our Annual Quilt Exhibition and the Queanbeyan road banner. which is displayed over the road as you come into Queanbeyan from Bungendore from mid to end November each year.

In 2017 the Bank generously gave us further funds of $4,700 to assist in the replacement of our ageing medium-sized quilt stands. We have now raised the remaining funds needs to finish the stands and 2024 will see the whole exhibition hung on our new black quilt stands.

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council

The QPRC has sponsored Bungendore Quilters to assist with the purchase of new banners to promote our Annual Quilt Exhibition and also in covering the costs of the exhibition.

Veolia Mulwaree Trust

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust sponsored Bungendore Quilters with the funds required to finish gift quilts. Our members make and donate fabric for gift quilts but then we require funds for backing, wadding and quilting to enable us to finish the quilts to give to our recipients. Veolia Mulwaree Trust has very kindly allowed us to continue this aspect of our community involvement.

Hughes Freight Lines

Hughes Freight Lines are run from Bungendore and if it fits in their trucks, they will haul it for you. They are wonderful sponsors of Bungendore Quilters, moving our exhibition stands, screens and all manner of items to and from our storage to the Bungendore War Memorial Hall each year.

Every year our supporters come forward to support us in a myriad of ways by donating prizes, making donations, purchasing raffle tickets, lending equipment, giving freely of their time and expertise and helping to make our Annual Quilt Exhibition the wonderful weekend it is.
